1) When do applications open for the 2024-2025 gap year program?

Applications are open now for 2025

 

2) What is the duration of the program, and when does it start in 2025?

24 February to 9 May 2025 (11 weeks)

15 September to 29 November (11 weeks)

 

 3) Please provide an overview of the curriculum and activities included in the program?

The school is designed to train potential leaders to succeed in life and is divided into 4 different focusses.

 

Skills training, Spiritual training, Volunteering at local Charities and Adventure outings.

Home Economics which includes basic household duties, different meat cuts, Barista training, basic cooking & pastry skills

Career Orientation which includes Find your why, aptitude assessments & 7 spheres of influence

Critical Thinking, rewiring your brain to succeed

Entrepreneurship which includes business start up & financial skills

Relationship with God, Father Heart of God, Life Class & Evangelism

First Aid training and Basic Fire Fighting

Health which includes Physical health, Oral Health Care & Mental Health

Leadership Training & Public Speaking

Orientation / Off grid Survival Camp

Personal Safety which includes baton training, pepper stream and surveillance

Adventure outing Fridays​

4) What are the total costs associated with the program, including tuition, fees, and any additional expenses?

Tuition includes Accommodation, food, lecture fees and local travel to orientation camp etc.

 

Tuition excludes travel & activities on off days when students might choose to go out to non - program activities.

 5) How many gap runs per year?

 

Three per year, but this year we re planning only 2. One end of February and the second in September.

In 2026 there will be one in Jan, another in March and the third in September.

 

6) Are there any scholarships or financial aid options available for international students?

​

Partial Scholarships are available, but are limited, students are welcome to apply and indicate if they would like to apply for a scholarship. We do offer sponsorship request letters upon request, which students can take to companies, their home church or family and friends for financial support. These are sent only once a student’s application is successful

 7) What are the visa requirements for international participants attending the program in South Africa?

​

Applicants will attend the program on a tourist visa, since they will only be here for 3 months and the program has a tourist outing on a weekly basis. 

​

8)  What kind of support services are available for international students, particularly those traveling alone for the first time?

Participants are picked up at the airport. We have a wellness check once a week.

10. Are there any orientation programs to help students adjust to life in Cape Town?

Yes, the first week is an orientation week.

​​

11. What health and safety measures are in place for the students?

An ambulance service and a security company is available on call.

 

12. Are there any specific health insurance requirements for international students?

Students need to arrange their own medical travel insurance. Most Travel agents can assist with this or simply google this from a computer in your country of residence: “medical travel insurance international”
